How can I maximize my wi-fi signal in my house, without moving my router, or getting a signal booster?
i have my router in the basement right now...i dont want to move it because it is wired to my gamecube. but now the rest of my computers and my wii dont get a very strong signal....if they get a signal at all! can i get a signal bridged through my desktop/laptop?

- get bigger antenaes, after market that replace the ones on your router., they supposedly add up to 50% range.
- yes u will need to get signal boosters, or access points around the house. since if the router is the basement you need to increase the signal stregth around the house the only way u can do this is with access points.
- Well if you remove the floor above your access point - that would improve the signal! Haha. But barring that - you should get a long cat5 patch cord and mount the wireless router on the ceiling or as close to the basement door/stairway at the top of those steps as possible.
- If the router is in your basement, then the signal is trying to get through concrete and pipes. Of course you're not going to get a good connection. You'll have to move it upstairs.
- 1. Get high-gain antennas. (Most will cost more than your router did) 2. Move the router to a more centralized location inside your house.
