wireless signal amplifier or booster?

hello where in the uk can i buy a wireless signal amplifier or booster that will allow me to receive wifi signals from 1mile away thanks i have a 20db antenna , but its receiving range is very limited in built up areas - 50 metres. So i need a booster to receive signals from 1 mile away i am looking for a signal amplifier that can boost signals from 1 mile away in a built up area

3. I think any kind of amplafier you could find would violate FCC power output restrictions. Your best bet is professional-grade equipment with directional antennas and a line-of-sight; although I don't know if that would be enough. If you have access to some locations inbetween, you could install repeaters to increase the range but these cut throughput by 50%
