Is there a way to boost an internal wifi antenna? (not a wifi card)?

Ok so my dad's computer has an internal wifi antenna and he needs to have the antenna's range boosted... so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a device that boosts the INTERNAL antenna, not a wifi card. I'm already aware of the numerous wifi signal boosters out there that plug into A WIFI CARD... but I'm talking about boosting an internal wifi antenna. Is there a device out there that I can buy for him? Thanks in advance for your answers Yes, I'm already aware of the cantenna. We have one... but it's just another one that plugs into a WIFI CARD. 1. try a card with a external antenna then change the external antenna to a larger one. Internal is impossible without knowing a little about electronics.
