how to boost wifi signal?

there is a very weak (fades in and out) unlocked wifi signal in the apt. I just moved into, is there a device I could plug into my laptop that would boost the signal so I could use this wifi for free? All the signal boosters seem to be for the other end-to boost outgoing signals!

1. Remember, it is "not good" to use someone else's network without their permission, even if it's unsecured; but, it's also the owners fault he didn't secure his dang network. Now, if you want to boost your WiFi signal, it's very simple. Get an ISP, sign up for a Internet Plan, get a router, put it in your apartment and voila! You have full bars of signal!
2. Yeah, you should def use a WiFi booster. They really help access free WiFi spots wherever. I use a Wi-Fire. This product is great because it is easy to install and it is easy to use. It gives the best range out of any of the other boosters on the market. They claim to extend up to 1,000 feet (which is pretty impressive if youthink about it). I use mine in my off campus apartment and tap into the university wifi and the wifi from the cafe down the block. It's super cheap (only $50). I'd try that if I were you!!!! Hope this helps. :)
