Wireless Signal Boosters

What components do I need for my netbook computer? The Wifi signal is not picking up at all!?

I have a new 7" netbook. It comes Wifi ready. But when I attempt to get on the Internet, it says Server Error DNS not found/available. But when I plug my cable cord in from my Road Runner into the notebook, the Internet comes on. My wifi connection is not coming on. It has a very low signal. I was told from the guy on the chat of this company, that I should get an WiFi booster. I have another laptop at home, and we use Roadrunner to connect to the Internet. What would I need to connect to the Internet for my netbook notebook computer? I really need some logical answers. If I can't get connected, I will return this computer back to this company!! Please help me!!

1. make sure the wireless is turned on! just about all laptops have a wireless on and off button. if that don't work it could be the stupid security junk they put on the router. look on the bottom of your router and if it has a wep security code you may have to enter that code into your laptop before it will let you access internet wirelessly? good luck! :o)
