Wireless Signal Boosters

does motorola signal booster make wireless network faster?

OK I have 2 computers. One computer is connected by wire and the other one has a linksys antenna thing that gets wireless. Will getting a Motorola signal booster increase internet speed for wireless?( would my wireless computer and laptop have faster internet if i get the booster or will it just affect the wired computer) TY!

1. Boosters only extend the range of a wireless signal, it does not affect speed directly. In fact, wireless repeaters actually slow down your wireless rates, as the repeaters have to send everything twice, once in each direction - cuts the bandwidth by about half....
