- put a password on your wifi and try moving your hub to a better location not so surrounded by walls.
- Use security key in the wifi network so u can only use the internet or u have to configure ur wifi hub by storing ur mac address in it then u wont get disconnected from internet.
- Three things you can do. First, it would help to move your router to another channel not shared with your neighbor, to eliminate interference. Next, set up your router in a good location close to where you use your computer most, or at least with the fewest walls and floors in between. Last, but perhaps most effective of all is to use a high gain antenna on router, computer's wireless adapter, or both. There are some great ideas for this on the website http://www.ab9il.net/wlan-projects/wifi1.html for example.
- what is happening, is a rare case of signal interference, theres and your wifi signals are probably on the same wavelength and are interfereing with eachother, you might have to call BT and ask them for a new router, or tell them about the problem. you could also try to boost your signal, by making a kind of booster, get enough foil to cover the modem, make it like into a shape that goes over and around the router but has one side open, position the open side to were you use your laptop and this might boost the signal and block out the interference.
- if you can afford it buy the Netgear WNDR 3700 router my wired and wireless connections have increased speeds just from this router the best router on the market. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhOOWjubvj0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ew-8Pyns9u4&feature=related
- Switch to a different channel on your router.
