What kind of wifi booster should I get?

I want to use my iPod and nintendo ds on my house wireless Internet but I want to use it across the house and my signal is not strong so I need a amplifier. But i want one that is portable and battery operated that does not hook up to the router. I want one that receives the signal and then makes the signal stronger all while being prtable and sit in my bag. So where can I get this product.

But first, you must learn this technology. I recommend getting the powerline wireless range extender because you are dealing with handheld devices.
