  1. Where is your wifi hub? Can anything else get a signal in the room where the ps3 is for your wifi? I run my ps3 on wifi, and it has no problems at all.
  2. The ps3 does not need any signal booster. First off, check if your router is a WIRELESS access point. Second, if it is a wireless access point then go to Settings > Network Settings and click Create a new connection. Then keep going and select automatic, then scan, and it should bring up the name of your wireless access point, click that and select automatic, then press finish then test connection. If the internet fails on it then go to your router, plug out the power cable for 2-3 minutes plug it back in and try the process again. If it doesn't see your wireless access point then you must not have one. In this case go to your local electronics store (Best Buy, Futureshop, Frys) and ask for a wireless access point/router, if try not to get the cheapest one but somewhere in the middle so it could last longer. Once you get it go back home, get the ethernet cable from the back of your modem plugged into the LAN port in the access point then buy another ethernet cable and run one from the modem to the computer you use. Then try scanning for an access point and it should show up.
