Wireless Signal Boosters

can cellphone boosters crash networks?

us cellular is disallowing the sales of signal boosters, even wireless ones by their third party agents because they 'claim' if, say an RV convention came to town, an overload of boosters/ repeaters could crash an infrastructure. Is there any truth to that?

  1. no, thats just a myth
  2. don't think so, all you are doing is getting a better signal
  3. In their opinion it would YES. The more signal booster people use,the more people are able to use their cellphone at one time together. This case will drive their Cell tower to overload.Dont think a single Cell Tower has unlimited capacity.Every cell tower has certain capacity to handle traffic communication (voice text and data) limited for certain number of mobile handset.Let say a cell tower can handle up to 1000 mobile handset. With signal booster the traffic communication will increase up to more 1500 mobile handset trying to make calls, text and data together. This cell tower will canont hold all that mobile handset. If you ever come to a full capacity football stadion to watch a football game, bringing with you your cellphone, you ll find a full bar network signal there, but you cannot even make a calls, that because the cell tower of your provider come to hang cause of overload.Like or dislike, increasing usage of signal booster will drive the very same case.Because more people will use their handset to make communication.Slowly but sure, overloaded will damage the cell tower. This was their bad thing, actually they have to add cell tower to serve better and enabling more people to make communication, instead they prevent people to do so.
