Help setting up Belkin wireless G access point to ISP which has static i.p. not dynamic! HELP!? Here's the story, I purchased a belkin g wireless access point. I have it connected to a port in the router provided by my ISP. I can access the access points menu through the IP address and can also log in to it. However, once I configure it, my laptop will connect to the access point but has no connectivity to the internet. My ISP provided me with the static ip's and gateways assigned to me, but I don't know how to tell the access point those numbers so it doesn't think it's a dynamic link. Any ideas?

I have setup the Access point, by connecting the Ethernet cable which came with the access point to my router and I have plugged in and turned on the power supply. The Power, Act and Link lights all light up when I turn on the power. I then ran the setup CD in my PC. When the setup tried to locate the access point, it returns the message "The setup utility was unable to locate a G-Wireless Access Point on your network. Belkin Wireless G Access point WIFI drops out after about 2-4 hours? Ok, i did a bit of research myself but cant figure it out, maybe some of you guys can help me. I have a Belkin Wireless G router (model number: F5D7230-4) these allow you to configure the device to be only a WAP (no routing or DHPC), It works fine but after about 2-4 hours the connection drops and non of my WiFi enabled devices can connect to it anymore. here is what i have tried. 1. Updating and downgrading firmware (tried all versions same result) 2. Different channels (im quite sure its not conflicting with any other Access points.) 3. It is not near any devices like large electric motors or transformers extension cables that could mess with it 4. I have tried different cables power supply's different ports even tried connecting it directly to my modem when its configured as a router, still drops the WiFi. Also, this Belkin is only handling my desktop PC (plugged into one of the 4 LAN ports) my iPhone via WIFI, my netbook via WIFI and sometimes my ipad via WIFI. i think that covers it, thanks for taking a look.

Hello everyone, actually i do have two problems and maybe someone out there can help me with one of these hopefully tiny problems. First problem is after i have secured my linksys ( wireless-g broadband router model wrt54gl ) connection with WPA2 personal preshared webkey i can't access my d-link ( airplus xtreme g wireless access point model dwl-2100ap ) anymore which is located on a different floor in the house. If someone could give me an easy understandable step by step guidance how to fix that and make both components secure that would be very much appreciated ( Still have all the installation cd's if required ). Second problem is that i have encountered a zipped file which contains one META.INF folder ( Manifest.mf ) and a bunch of class files. The files look like that > a.class, ab.class, bb.class, c.class, cb.class, and so on. There are in total 43 class files. Can someone please tell me how to make sense of all that in an easy way? Maybe a program i could use? I figured out that these class files belong to Java if i am not mistaken but that doesn't help me much as i don't know how to put the whole thing together. Linkysys wireless g adapter cannot associate with access point? Hi, I'm trying to set up my brother's computer with the stuff my dad got him. The thing I ended up getting to hook up with a Belkin Wireless G Router was a Linksys wireless G adapter ( S/N MLF00HB83827, Model # WUSB54GC). I would have personally just got a Belkin adapter to go with a belkin router, but hey, guess I get what I get. Anyway, the error I get is "Cannot connect to access point." The connection is shown as the router's name and 29%. I'm not sure if the problem is a weak signal or it's just not connecting. My original thought was maybe it just has to connect with a linksys router, but hopefully that's not the case. My router's security and firewall are down temporarily while I figure this out, and I'm about to give up today. Any ideas? I'm probably missing something really simple. Thanks.

Linksys Wireless G notebook card says cannot associate access point? A family member donated a Linksys-G router and a Linksys Wireless G notebook card. Everything was there, and she had security set up, but all the information to passphrase and WEP-128 bit, plus 26 letter/# code was all written down. THE PROBLEM: the router hooked up perfectly, but the wireless card only has power light on. I reinstalled, uninstalled, everything.. devices and drivers. wireless laptop connection problem, g-card, n-access point? just installed 5 D-Link draft N access points to make school building wireless. had to buy new cards because N access points don't do WEP, they do WPA-PSK encryption. bought new AirLink G cards to accommodate WPA and connection was great. however now, after only 2 weeks, when students log-in sometimes it connects but more often than not it comes up with a domain not found message. can anybody clue me in to what I am missing? don't have the problem on hardwired computers or on any laptop with built-in cards.

Dlink Wireless G Routers all the same SSID? I have about 15 Dlink Wireless G - Wireless Access Points at my work. What I would like to do is have it so that there is only one SSID for every WAP. So what I did is I changed every WAP to have the same SSID (For example Wireless). All the WAPs have the same WPA2 password as well. With everyone named 'Wireless' I had hoped that as the laptops are moved through the building they would automatically pick up the next strongest WAP in a sort of seemless fashion. That doesn't seem to be the case. If the laptops are moved out of range of the one WAP it drops all signal and then they have to go to the Windows Wireless Connections and reconnect to the next WAP even though the passwords are the same and the SSIDs are the same. In theory, I thought that if they were the same the wireless profile would be the same and it would connect to any of them without constantly reconnecting. If anyone knows any solutions to this I would greatly appreciate your input. If I would make them all the same MAC. Wouldn't that conflict with the DHCP on my Domain Controller?

I tried: 1) Turning it off for 15-20 seconds with a paper clip in the Reset hole. 2) Turning it on with a paper clip in the Reset hole (for about a minute). 2) Unplugged all connections (except power) having a paper clip in the Reset hole. None of them worked for me.I also tried 192.168.2.255 (configuration page) suggestion.

I have a wireless-g pci adapter, is there a wire i can buy that extends the antenna of this adapter? My wireless access point doesn't quite reach the computer with the wireless-g pci adapter card. Therefore I'd like to extend the wireless pci adapter antenna using a wire extension. What product can I buy that extends this pci adapter antenna wire? I would buy a higher gain antenna, but the situation I have is that room with the wireless pci adapter card in it is sort of enclosed and doesn't get any signals. My plan is to drill a hole and run the wire outside the room in order to pick up the signal. In this particular case a higher gain antenna won't change anything, I need a wireless pci adapter wire extension. That's exactly what I'm trying to do! Where I can I buy a longer antenna?

It can detect my profile and my router shown 90% range, so it is not far away from my router but when I click connect, it'll load and then show "cannot associate with access point" I tried changing the channels from 1,6,11 didn't work. Tried changing it to wireless g only, b, and mix still doesn't work. Also, changing the router to wep, wpa, and NO password. Yet, it still doesn't connect. I enabled the wireless zero on the admin tools but still doesn't work. Also tried to update the driver and no result still =( All my other computers have linksys wireless and it works except my laptop! Can anyone explain why it doesn't work or have a solution?!!!! HELP! =( NEVERMIND I FOUND THE SOLUTION under the wireless settings on the router. The wireless card access list I disable the "TURN ACCESS CONTROL" and it worked! thanks anyways!

Disable all access to websites apart from one with a Belkin Wireless G Router? Hi I have a Belkin Wireless G Router, 54MBPS. Im setting up a access point for locals to connect and see a community website. I want to know how i can make all websites un-accessible with the router apart from 1. So all local wireless users will only be able to access one website. PLUS I want to, when a user connects they are automatically redirected to that website and not their original homepage. Thanks!

Can I wired and have wireless on both my computers? Two desktops have access to wireless (Linksys- G access point) to internet and file sharing. Can I link them two together also via cable, for more stable connectivity?
