Cell Phone Antenna Boosters Knowledge Base
Is there any such thing as a Cell Phone antenna booster? I live in a very marginal cell. phone reception area; sometimes I get the tower, with one or two bars, and sometimes not. I'd like to drop my land line due to trouble with Verizon, my provider. Can I get some kind of antenna I can mount on the side of my house for better cellular phone reception? Then perhaps I could get WiFi for my computers as well... TIA!
where to put cell phone antenna booster? I just bought a "celltenna" booster for my Motorola L6 phone. Have no idea where should I place it. Anyone can help? I tried all the suggestions...it still doesn't work. For those of you who are curious, I only paid $2 for the booster.
Does anyone have cell phone antenna booster experience? I currently get 4-5 bars at 3G on my cell phone. I use it for tethering. I have been looking at options to increase data speeds. I saw a few external antenna attachments, and was wondering which, if any, work. Any other thoughts and/or suggestions! Thank you!! Here are a few I looked at http://www.cellphoneshop.net/exanforceph.html http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?divid=Sony+Ericsson&model=Sony+Ericsson+Equinox&cat=miscellaneous&skuno=7495# http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?divid=Sony+Ericsson&model=Sony+Ericsson+Equinox&cat=miscellaneous&skuno=82740 http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?divid=Sony+Ericsson&model=Sony+Ericsson+Equinox&cat=miscellaneous&skuno=80523 https://www.mobilizenow.com/catalog/Sony-Ericsson_Equinox_Antennas_895075.htm http://www.talkietech.com/carmoanandre.html You're the cat's pajamas!

do cell phone signal boosters work? i dont get good service at my work. i dont want to spend a ton... do you think this will work? http://www.amazon.com/Cellular-Innovations--BOOSTER-Universal-Antenna/dp/B00009WCAP/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1292476365&sr=8-6
Poor cell phone reception? I bought a Nokia 7260 while living in Jakarta, Indonesia. I now live in a small town in Ontario and am finding that my reception is horendous, despite the fact that other Rogers users have very good reception. Is it just that my phone is "weak"? And do those Phone Antenna Boosters really work? Any thoughts or suggestions???
Cell-Phone Amplifier or booster? Hi, I (like many others) have terrible cell phone reception. Which is why I still keep a land-line at my house running. Recently I've been online researching different cell phone carriers, trying to see if one would have better reception then the other(typing in address, which brings up a map of reception levels). Seeing as all carriers provide roughly the same "1-bar" reception, (according to map/experimenting with Verizon and sprint) Plan-B is all i could think up of which consists of some type of Antenna which would boost/amplify my cell phone reception. Apparently from what I have read- the "boosters" only work if you have good reception say in one area of your house providing other "dead-spots" with clear calling. But I digress,(thought i should give you background knowledge on my situation) my question is if anyone knows of a Cell Phone External Antenna that possibly "creates" better reception (or uses clear reception from maby half a town over lol) so I can finally get rid all together of my land-line/rationalize the fact that paying high cell phone bills is worth all the use of the phone Thank-You! =]
will this cell phone reception booster work for my phone? i live really far away from town... and i have a virgin mobile phone and i get no signal where i live... will the Internal Antenna Booster Sticker work for my phone??? it says it works with LG too... and my phone does have the LG logo on it... if it doesn't work... what is a good cell phone reception booster that is VERY cheap and will work? my phone is the virgin mobile flare so it does not have an antenna... PLEASE help me! this computer and that phone are the only ways i have to talk to my friends and boyfriend
would a cell phone have better reception with 2 antennas? im buying a generation x cell phone signal booster (like the as seen on tv ones), and they were cheap, so i thought of buying 2 of them, and i was wondering if you could get even better signal with 2 on your cell phone, and what if 2 were stacked on top of each other, or side by side.
Can someone help me with my sons MTK MT228 cell phone? I bought this phone online for my son. Everything seems to be working fine except he is having problems with signal. Many times a day it says "no service" I have called our local provider and they say everything is fine with our service. Is there an internal antenna booster I can buy or do you think there is something wrong with his phone. Can someone please give some advice?
do cellphone signal boosters work? I have an important job that requires a lot of use with a cellphone. on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/CELL-PHONE-SIGNAL-BOOSTER-ANTENNA-HOME-CAR-AT-T-ATT_W0QQitemZ350176068016QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item350176068016&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1729%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50. this is a signal boostersometimess i have service but sometimes idon'tt does this look like i will work? i live in kentucky
Cell Phone Signal Booster? im thinking of purchasing a cell phone signal booster, its like an extended antennae, do these things actually work?? its not that cheap sticker that you put behind your cell battery. its like an actual antennae that you set up in your house.
Cell phone reception booster that works? I tried four different carriers before finding one that gave me at least somewhat of a signal where I live (out in the sticks). I recently had to return my phone due to damage, and neither of the two replacements, or the loaner they provided for the time to exchange got a signal at all. Actually the second replacement gets one sometimes, but not at all close to what my original cell got. My question is, are there any signal boosters that really work, not like the little sticker that you put inside the case. I seem to remember seeing something resembling a small dish antenna that was advertised to be used inside the home and guaranteed improved reception in areas such as mine. Does anyone know of this or any other type of signal booster that isn't just hype? My land line frequently goes out and I don't like having no way to contact someone should the need arise. Thanks in advance...
Any advice on improving signal strength on my Motorola V551 cell phone? The most signal strength I can get on my cell is 2 bars only and sometimes none at all. What should I do to improve this? I even added a signal booster that sticks inside the cell phone close to the antenna underneath the battery. By the way, my service provider is Rogers here in Canada.
how can i boost my cell phone coverage in my house? i live in a suburb of a major city and have verizon, which works great, except when i'm in my house i work from home and need stronger coverage in my house. Does anyone know of a cell signal booster or antenna that works? Thanks
cell phone reception? do those antenna boosters that you put in your phone or on a window actually work? we have horrible reception at our house (even with our new phones) and i'm trying to find a way to improve it. any advice is welcome!
Which cell phone should I buy? I am choosing between one of the following GSM 850 cell phones, which both work with a special cable that allows me to connect a cell phone to my handspring visor pda for internet access: Motorola T720 / 721 nokia 6200 ericsson T616, T316, T306, T62u I am leaning towards either the motorola or nokia. One consideration for me is that inside my house I currently have very poor (pretty much none) reception. If I walk outside my door I have ok reception. I understand the nokia 6200 has excellent reception and is a great phone, but it has an internal antenna so it limits other options like "boosters" and "expandable antenna's" etc. The motorola phone seems to be only "so-so" for quality and reception, but I can use an expandable antenna like this one with it: http://cgi.ebay.com/FOR-MOTOROLA-GSM-T720-T721-T722-T725-SILVER-ANTENNA-1_W0QQitemZ220044152502QQihZ012QQcategoryZ41297QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem So - for GSM 850, would that antenna improve anything, or just stick with good nokia?
where is the wifi antenna located on a macbook? I have a black macbook and would like to know where the wifi antenna is. Silly idea, but I want to put one of the cell phone reception booster strips over it. It works for my phone so why not the mac? **EDIT** AS I SAID, I HAVE USED THE BOOSTER STRIPS & THEY DO WORK! IF YOU HAVE NOTHING CONSTRUCTIVE TO ADD, KEEP YOUR OPINIONS TO YOURSELF
Has anyone had any experience with zboost cell signal boosters? I currently have an external antennae that mounts on my window sill which increases my signal significantly. I'm just unhappy with the fact that it forces me to be tethered to the device, defeating the purpose of having a wireless phone. It also allows only one user to use their phone simultaneously. Any experiences? Thanks!
Cell Phone question? We recently moved and have no signal at all in our new house. We live in an urban area and pretty close to a tower. Any suggestions on an antenna or booster that would help this situation. Thanks
how to connect 3g iphone Passive Antenna Adapter to phone? Having a hard time to finding solution to this question. I'm finding that there are antenna adapters for the iphone. However, I'm having a hard time finding articles, pictures, or video on how to use them. So can any one help me out? My goal is to increase my iphone 3g cell phone signal. I have some plans on how to do it. I'm not willing to purchase and booster or cell repeater; they usually cost $200 dollars, or more. And I'm not willing to buy a cheaper repeater on ebay or some biding site.... The person who gives me the most helpful information will(like video, pictures or and good article on the subject will be voted in the best answer, rising their points on the yahoo answer site. Radiation Shield and Antenna Booster for Cell Phones? Does the Radiation Shield actually work? explain Does the Antenna Booster actually work? explain http://www.cellphoneshop.net/ankit.html?OVRAW=radiation%20shield&OVKEY=radiation%20shield&OVMTC=standard&OVADID=16573320011&OVKWID=127590962011 http://www.cellphoneshop.net/noname144.html;_ylc=X1MDMjAyMjI3NjA5OQRfcgMyBGJ0A3Byb2QtY2xpY2sEZHN0aQNub25hbWUxNDQEaW5BcnJheQMEc2kDY2VsbHBob25lc2hvcARzcmNpA3NpcmFzaAR2X21uA3JQcm9kQWZmBHZfb3JkAzIEdl9yaWQDMV9zcDFfODE1NjM1NDE2BHZfc24Dc3RvcmVzLnByb2R1Y3RyZWNvcw-- I have both of them on... should I take them off or leave them on?
Is there anything that I can do to extend the range of my fm transmittor? I noticed that when the antenna is in the front of the car my fm transmittor works perfectly fine. However in my own car the antenna is in the back of the car and I get quite a bit of interference. Even people that get in my car after I've been in theirs with it notice the difference. So is there any kind of wire that I can use to bring the antenna inside of the car or something like that? Or what about those cell phone booster stickers that you stick inside your phone, do you think that will work? my transmittor is a belkin wireless so it's pretty much stationary.
Can I improve my cellphone reception with a home made? I tried connecting 20 feet of copper wire to my cell phone with an alligator clip to try and improve the reception inside my car. The phone is a Motorola 570 from Telus. I attached it to the little pop up antenna on the phone. I don't want to spend $200 for a booster. Any ideas???
What are some options available for me to have a faster internet connection? I have been stuck with dial up internet because of where I live in the country. Recently, my daughter got a cell phone that is faster than my pc at downloading files and stuff. I have looked around the internet and saw that it is possible to use her cell as a modem, and my question is: exactly what do I need to do to do this? The cell phone gets 3G in town, but not at home, but the internet speed is still faster without it compared to my pc. Also, do you guys think I should contact AT&T for wireless internet? The signal at my home may not be strong, maybe 2 bars on a cell phone, so is there an antenna or power booster I could use if I go that route? BTW Satellite internet is out of the question.
Cell signal sucks here what can I do? Ok I'm to the point where i'm about ready to put one of those car antennas on a hat and wear it on my head with a wire plugged in my cell phone when i'm at home becuase there's 0 - 1 bars of signal here. I have Verizon. I know most peopl say those sticker booster thigns don't really work and I dont' really care.. How about those mor expensive ones that you plug in at the house that resend the signal like a repeater basically? I know they cost a lot but I'm thinking of splitting the cost with some others here at the house to get one because we all have verizon. Anyone know of a good brand and/or model of those that would work good? I'm trying to stay under $200 if possible. wow thanks for all the answers so far guys. No i'm not in a basement. However if I am in the upstairs of the house I get 0 bars still but it does work a lot better. If I go out front I get 1 bar, and in the back forget it. I didn't know verizon sold one i'll have to check it out!
