Cell phone reception booster that works? I tried four different carriers before finding one that gave me at least somewhat of a signal where I live (out in the sticks). I recently had to return my phone due to damage, and neither of the two replacements, or the loaner they provided for the time to exchange got a signal at all. Actually the second replacement gets one sometimes, but not at all close to what my original cell got. My question is, are there any signal boosters that really work, not like the little sticker that you put inside the case. I seem to remember seeing something resembling a small dish antenna that was advertised to be used inside the home and guaranteed improved reception in areas such as mine. Does anyone know of this or any other type of signal booster that isn't just hype? My land line frequently goes out and I don't like having no way to contact someone should the need arise. Thanks in advance...

We live on the bottom floor and the apartment seems closed in (somewhat like a tunnel) so i dont know if thats why. But I wanted to know if anyone had any solutions or could help me get service. Does Sprint's in-home cell phone reception booster cause cancer? I know, everything causes cancer these days. But as I understand it, cell towers give you more than the 'usual' dose. As such, I felt like I should find out if one of these devices which boosts your cell phone's reception in your own home by essentially acting as (what is said to be akin to) a cell phone tower in your own home. I could not find the items online tonight for some reason, but nonetheless, I know Sprint has a device that boosts the reception in your home with a white-ish device which costs $100, then +$5 a month (I believe Verizon's, years ago, costed $200 with no monthly fee). If anyone can send me a link for the Sprint version of this, please do so! The question is, however, would these devices cause more cancer in a person than, say, a Wi-Fi router? Or standard radios? Would it be worth the risk to one's health, in other words, to buy such a thing (given that I get next to no reception in my house as-is and that's where I normally use my cell phone)?
Do cell phone signal boosters actually work? My cell phone gets terrible reception, and everyone advertises those signal boosters that you put behind your battery. I was wondering if they ACTUALLY work?
Is there a cell phone booster to enhance reception? Is there a cell phone booster that I can purchase to enhance my reception inside my home? Unless I stand at my window with my phone and ear pressed up to the glass, my reception is horrible.
Cell Phone Case, Screen Protector, Reception Booster I just bought the LG Dare. I want to know whether I should get a Hard Cover or a Silicone Cover. And I also want to know if there is a screen protector cover that acts as a mirror, kind of like the LG Shine. I've seen some sites claiming that they have it, but it looks fake. Also, I want to know if there is any way to boost your cell phone reception, for example that sticker that you put in your phone behind the battery. But does it really work?
Does a booster antenna for cell phone really work? Currently I am using cingular wireless for my cell phone, but my reception downstairs in my house is poor. I was wondering if a cell phone booster antenna will really improve my reception?
Is there any such thing as a Cell Phone antenna booster? I live in a very marginal cell. phone reception area; sometimes I get the tower, with one or two bars, and sometimes not. I'd like to drop my land line due to trouble with Verizon, my provider. Can I get some kind of antenna I can mount on the side of my house for better cellular phone reception? Then perhaps I could get WiFi for my computers as well... TIA!
would a cell phone have better reception with 2 antennas? im buying a generation x cell phone signal booster (like the as seen on tv ones), and they were cheap, so i thought of buying 2 of them, and i was wondering if you could get even better signal with 2 on your cell phone, and what if 2 were stacked on top of each other, or side by side.

How can I boost my cell phone reception when I am inside my house? Is there anything that I can do to boost my cellular phone service while I am indoors. Poor cell phone reception? I bought a Nokia 7260 while living in Jakarta, Indonesia. I now live in a small town in Ontario and am finding that my reception is horendous, despite the fact that other Rogers users have very good reception. Is it just that my phone is "weak"? Poor cell phone reception in new house? I just purchased a new home and I have bad cell phone reception. I moved to a somewhat rural area. I get reception just down the street, and even outside my own house, but not inside. I have a great plan with Verizon, and I don't want to have to cancel it. The only other cell phone company with good reception out there is US Cellular, and I don't want to go back to using them again. Has anyone had any luck with any kind of signal boosters inside their homes? Or any other ideas on how to keep my service with Verizon???
cell phone reception? I have the Scoop phone from Alltel, and I live in a dead zone. If you go about one mile up the road you can get signal. Im wanting to know how can i boost my cell phone reception? is there any household items i could use? Ive been to 2 Alltel centers and they have 2 boosters for sale-wired $200 wireless $300. I don't have that kind of money to pay for a booster. What can I do to get service? the Alltel LG Scoop is the same as the Sprint LG Rumor phone ive went to the websites and a couple of them including alltel say they have service here where i live but turns out alltel doesnt.
Cell-Phone Amplifier or booster? Hi, I (like many others) have terrible cell phone reception. Which is why I still keep a land-line at my house running. Recently I've been online researching different cell phone carriers, trying to see if one would have better reception then the other(typing in address, which brings up a map of reception levels). Seeing as all carriers provide roughly the same "1-bar" reception, (according to map/experimenting with Verizon and sprint) Plan-B is all i could think up of which consists of some type of Antenna which would boost/amplify my cell phone reception. Apparently from what I have read- the "boosters" only work if you have good reception say in one area of your house providing other "dead-spots" with clear calling. But I digress,(thought i should give you background knowledge on my situation) my question is if anyone knows of a Cell Phone External Antenna that possibly "creates" better reception (or uses clear reception from maby half a town over lol) so I can finally get rid all together of my land-line/rationalize the fact that paying high cell phone bills is worth all the use of the phone Thank-You! =]

IF YOU HAVE NOTHING CONSTRUCTIVE TO ADD, KEEP YOUR OPINIONS TO YOURSELF

Which cell phone should I buy? I am choosing between one of the following GSM 850 cell phones, which both work with a special cable that allows me to connect a cell phone to my handspring visor pda for internet access: Motorola T720 / 721 nokia 6200 ericsson T616, T316, T306, T62u I am leaning towards either the motorola or nokia. One consideration for me is that inside my house I currently have very poor (pretty much none) reception. If I walk outside my door I have ok reception. I understand the nokia 6200 has excellent reception and is a great phone, but it has an internal antenna so it limits other options like "boosters" and "expandable antenna's" etc. The motorola phone seems to be only "so-so" for quality and reception, but I can use an expandable antenna like this one with it: http://cgi.ebay.com/FOR-MOTOROLA-GSM-T720-T721-T722-T725-SILVER-ANTENNA-1_W0QQitemZ220044152502QQihZ012QQcategoryZ41297QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem So - for GSM 850, would that antenna improve anything, or just stick with good nokia?

Also reduces static. Signal Booster should be placed in battery compartment.
Can I improve my cellphone reception with a home made? I tried connecting 20 feet of copper wire to my cell phone with an alligator clip to try and improve the reception inside my car. The phone is a Motorola 570 from Telus. I attached it to the little pop up antenna on the phone. I don't want to spend $200 for a booster. Any ideas???
I just bought a Wireless Xtenderz Zboost YX545 Signal Booster for my cellular phone. Will it work? I just bought a Wireless Xtenderz ZBOOST YX545 cellular phone booster but have not received it yet.I have an At&t cell phone and account. I just moved to a new apt within the city of Birmingham, Alabama and have Zero Service within the confines of my apt since my new apt is in the basement, and my building sits in a small valley. I have great reception when i go up to he ground level but have absolutely ZERO reception in my APT. I need to know if this booster will work out of the box or if i have to pay more money to ATT for some sort of service or what. If you have any info on how these boosters work, please let me know. I would be very very appreciative. Thanks for your time. Respectfully, Chef Luis Alfonso Pernia Corvato... I'm certainly capable of running some cables to a discrete location so that the vandals of the building will pass it over. I just need to know whether or not the cellular amplifier/booster will work with the cell phone, and company whom i deal with. I also have no idea if i have to pay extra, as I said in the listing of thie question. Anyways, I'm just aggrevated. AT&T wouldnt give me a descent answer. They said that i have to pay 45 bucks a month for service and that i have to buy THEIR BOOSTER which costs 200 bucks in order to have proper service. They also told me that i had to find out on my own whether or not the Booster that I bought would work with their system. JEEZE. what a pain in the ass. -CLP

Which one should I get for a cell phone Extender? Currently, I live in an apartment where all my roommates and I have AT&T Cellular Phone Service. Unfortunately, it seems like only Verizon has any luck in the building. Sometimes I would have to stand on the balcony to get some kind of decent reception. As I was researching online, I came across: http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Extenders-YX510-PCS-CELDual-Booster-Coverage/dp/B000J2XZ1K/ref=pd_cp_cps_1 The problem is the price-tag and since all of us are using one service, I'm trying to decide if I get the "PCS" (1900 MHz) or the "CEL" (800 MHz) model. Remember, all of us use AT&T. Thanks.
cell phone reception? do those antenna boosters that you put in your phone or on a window actually work? we have horrible reception at our house (even with our new phones) and i'm trying to find a way to improve it. any advice is welcome!
