Cellular Signal Booster Knowledge Base
I just bought a Wireless Xtenderz Zboost YX545 Signal Booster for my cellular phone. Will it work? I just bought a Wireless Xtenderz ZBOOST YX545 cellular phone booster but have not received it yet.I have an At&t cell phone and account. I just moved to a new apt within the city of Birmingham, Alabama and have Zero Service within the confines of my apt since my new apt is in the basement, and my building sits in a small valley. I have great reception when i go up to he ground level but have absolutely ZERO reception in my APT. I need to know if this booster will work out of the box or if i have to pay more money to ATT for some sort of service or what. If you have any info on how these boosters work, please let me know. I would be very very appreciative. Thanks for your time. Respectfully, Chef Luis Alfonso Pernia Corvato... I'm certainly capable of running some cables to a discrete location so that the vandals of the building will pass it over. I just need to know whether or not the cellular amplifier/booster will work with the cell phone, and company whom i deal with. I also have no idea if i have to pay extra, as I said in the listing of thie question. Anyways, I'm just aggrevated. AT&T wouldnt give me a descent answer. They said that i have to pay 45 bucks a month for service and that i have to buy THEIR BOOSTER which costs 200 bucks in order to have proper service. They also told me that i had to find out on my own whether or not the Booster that I bought would work with their system. JEEZE. what a pain in the ass. -CLP
anyone use a cellular phone booster in their home? We live in a remote area and lose our signal often. I was considering purchasing a wireless repeater/cell phone booster. If anyone has used one and can recommend an economical brand/model OR if anyone thinks they are "useless," the information is appreciated.
Cellular Booster? we live in a large valley, 25 miles from the nearest cell phone tower...voice msgs. arrive 3 hrs. after call has been made..we need to have a cellular booster to receive all calls...wind is a factor..if none, then signal comes in strong..other times not so.. all suggestions will be appreciated... Thank You..
zBoost Cellular Booster, Antenna Cable Question? I own a zBoost model YX-510 PCS/Cell booster and want to know what the maximum length of RG6 cable I can use before I start to lose signal through the cable. Not sure how all this works, but I do know the longer the cable I need to run, the thicker the wire should be. Currently I have about 70 feet of RG6 cable running between the antenna to the cell booster. Should I run a different type of cable? If so, what kind? Also, if anyone knows of a good high gain antenna that I can replace the standard antenna with that would also be helpful. I do not need to use the PCS side of the booster as we all use Verizon Wireless in the house. Any info would be greatly appreciated, Thanks
do cell phone signal boosters work? i dont get good service at my work. i dont want to spend a ton... do you think this will work? http://www.amazon.com/Cellular-Innovations--BOOSTER-Universal-Antenna/dp/B00009WCAP/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1292476365&sr=8-6
Blackberry storm wireless extender? I have a Blackberry Storm (Original) and we have Verizon and neither my Fiance or I get service in our house very well (he has the same phone)... we get some reception in some spots but it cuts out a lot if you are not outside. I am looking for a wireless extender and the one I found was Wi-Ex zBoost YX500-CEL Signal Booster 800MHz - Cellular phone antenna signal amplifier but Verizon's specs says the storm uses the 800 MHz and the 1900 MHz. Just wondering if the 800 MHz will help the signal or if I needed to spend the extra couple hundred for the dual band amplifier. I don't want to if I don't have to but I don't know if it is necessary. I was also wondering if it would boost the 3G network as well or just the cellular signal. I'm not as worried about that because we have cable internet.
Any Android ? Ph Apps ?? No Signal & Need Incoming calls thru Wifi? HI there everyone... I've been searching for a simple method of receiving calls in my office since the cellular reception is rather poor.... Are there any Google App's that will allow incoming calls to wring on my Android phone ... I am familiar with Google voice and the call forwarding/txt/outgoing calls But the issue i have is when people call me back and i have no cellular reception calls would be forwarded to my voice mail.. is there a way to Have incoming calls ring directly to my ph I have 4G which is useless inside just like regular carrier signals... but i do have excellent Wifi in my office which i would like to connect my call to and make calls thru... any apps or methods to assist ? Thanks ?? P.S. Do these signal boosters like zboost actually work?
can cellphone boosters crash networks? us cellular is disallowing the sales of signal boosters, even wireless ones by their third party agents because they 'claim' if, say an RV convention came to town, an overload of boosters/ repeaters could crash an infrastructure. Is there any truth to that?
Need to boost a weak wifi dongle signal or radiophone signal...? In a remote mountain area, I get service from the landline provider for telephone via radiophone connection. Using that connection for isp is slow(250Kb/s) even on a 2Mb connection, unstable and expensive. My mobile only works occationally. I tried to connect my laptop to Movistar Espana with a dongle. The signal is too weak to connect. What should I do? Can I get an external antenna with WORKING booster that will rebroadcast to the dongle? Or do I plug the dongle into an amplifier that then feeds the laptop? Can I boost the radiophone signal to stabalize an isp signal from them? Do the new cellular systems(G3/4) have any better coverage than my current older gps mobile? Tech support here in Alpujarra is lame and so is my spanish, so I ask for help here instead. THX!
Verizon MiFi modem status... what do each of these mean? When I go into diagnostics for my MiFi connection this is what it says and I don't understand it... Right now I'm connected and its working. Channel: 78 P_REV Indicator: 6 PRL ID: ----- Band Class Type: US Cellular (800MHz) ERI Version: 4 Dormancy: FALSE Signal - EVDO: -89 dBm Sigal - 1x: -89 dBm Signal - LTE: Not Available SINR - LTE: 30dB Battery Level: 3 Battery Charging: 0 Ec/Io: -7.00dB Some of these are self explainatory, but I'm still working on understanding what the signals stand for. I haven't found a place where I can find much information on this. I think LTE must be 4G? When it doesn't have internet, but I can connect it only has a negative dBm connection to 1x and sometimes the EVDO. Also, the channel for whatever reason seems to be higher when I have no connection which just may be coincidence. My Model number is MiFi4510L. I have a Wilson signal booster. My 800mHz gain setting is up to 50, which is high as I can get it without getting interference. My 1900mHz setting is on 55, but I don't think it helps with anything that I can see. I'm just trying to better understand this because I'm only getting a useable connection about half of the time. When I do get one the pages seem to be loading well (most of the time). It can be in the same place and work awesome for two days and then nothing. Can I modify any of these settings? My WAN is set to autoconnect to a "global" vzwinternet so that it can search through each connection to a usable one. Often once I reboot it takes quite a while for it to find one that works. I'm not fully understanding the -#dB yet. Any help would be appreciated.
Poor cell phone reception in new house? I just purchased a new home and I have bad cell phone reception. I moved to a somewhat rural area. I get reception just down the street, and even outside my own house, but not inside. I have a great plan with Verizon, and I don't want to have to cancel it. The only other cell phone company with good reception out there is US Cellular, and I don't want to go back to using them again. Has anyone had any luck with any kind of signal boosters inside their homes? Or any other ideas on how to keep my service with Verizon???
How do i undo my t-moblie iphone contract? This is why I detest t-moble and wish it would die in the fire of a fire of a million suns. -T moblie is crap, my signal cuts out all the time, even in central london ouside a t moblie shop!!! -Their app is terrible, no matter how many texts i use it always says i have 500 left. -They keep charging me for things i havent done, my bill is meant to be £40 but is more like £60 a month. -3g/cellular internet coverage is awful, unyet some how they say Ive downloaded 4gb of data and uploaded 4.5gb!!!!!! -You cant use your phone abroad unless you pay for ''boosters'' for your internet calls and texts, which I didnt know about so I went on holiday, found i couldnt even phone up t-moble to buy the ''boosters'' while i was there. -Their customer service is crap, I sent an email every day about the above for a week about 5 weeks ago and still no reply, I phone them up and the line is always conviently engaged.
